BREAKING NEWS: Murder suspect charged; held on $500,000 bond

Jaosn Lee Horner, murder, homicide, owatonna, 2023

The suspect in the murder of a young woman last week in Owatonna has been charged with second-degree murder and is being held on a half-million-dollar unconditional bond.

Jason Lee Horner, 38, was arraigned Monday morning in Steele County District Court. His next court appearance has been set for June 29.

Horner is accused of killing Sabrina Lee Schnoor, 25, under an Interstate 35 overpass near the Steele County Court Administration building. Her body was found last Tuesday, about 24 hours after she was killed.

Horner was quickly identified as a suspect; Schnoor had told friends she was going to Owatonna to meet him, because he claimed he was headed to prison.

After Schnoor was discovered, authorities spent about three days searching for Horner. He was arrested early Sunday morning at a home in Waseca.
