Paul Smith, 66, Owatonna

Paul Smith, 66, of Owatonna MN, passed away Friday, September 30, 2022 at his residence Colony Court Foxdale in Waseca, MN.

Paul was born August 30, 1956, in Minneapolis MN, to Gerald and Myrtle Smith. Paul attended and graduated from Owatonna High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the Marines from which he was honorably discharged.

Over the years, Paul held many jobs at Careers Training Center and Truth. But, he was unable to work due to his disabilities for many years and he resided at the Mineral Springs Lodge for men in Owatonna. He loved riding his bike to the park and the library to get books.

After a fall, he moved to his new residence at Colony Court Foxdale where he lived for the past seven years. Paul was a loving and caring person to all who met him, even strangers which he greeted with his joyful, “Hi there!”

Paul is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents and a nephew, Joshua. He is survived by brother Gary and sister-in-law Teresha Smith, nieces and nephews: Selena Smith (Tony Sullivan), Abraham (Dana) Smith, and Christopher Prince and many cousins.

Funeral will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at Brick-Meger Funeral Home. Friends may greet the family one and a half hours prior, starting at 9:30 AM at the funeral home. Military honors will be provided by the Steele County Funeral Unit. Interment will take place at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
