NEWS BULLETIN: History Center director resigns

Kellen Hinrichsen, who has served as Steele County Historical Society (SCHS) executive director since September of 2020, has announced he is leaving the organization.

On Monday, SCHS officials announced Hinrichsen’s departure effective Aug. 16.

Hinrichsen called his resignation “bittersweet.”

“It has been a pleasure to serve the community over the past two years and to help build and progress the Steele County Historical Society,” he said. “I am very proud of what I have had the opportunity to do during my time here.”

SCHS officials said operations will continue as usual while they begin the search for a new executive director.
