News Bulletin: Police to hold community notification regarding sex offender

Owatonna Police will be holding a community notification meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 20 at 3 p.m. in the Gainey Room at the Owatonna Library to discuss a dangerous sex offender being released into the community.

On Wednesday, Devon Taylor Sather will be released from state prison in St. Cloud where he has been serving time for criminal sexual conduct with teenage victims.

According to police, Sather has a history of engaging in sexual contact against known teenage girls. He creates and uses a relationship of trust to gain and exploit unmonitored access. He also uses attention and affection in an effort to maintain access.

Sather will be moving into the 300 block of East Rose Street in Owatonna.

He is considered a Level Three offender, which is deemed the most likely to reoffend.
