Blossom Belle Boutique opens in living color

It was a dream come true for Kelly Jean LaMotte.
Her Blooming Prairie boutique opened in living color last Saturday on Main Street next to Bunkie’s.“I had a vision, and we made it happen,” LaMotte said, crediting her family and others for making a dream real.
“It still doesn’t seem real,” LaMotte confides.
Her boutique is named the Blossom Belle Boutique. Kelly’s husband Derrick installed the sign out front two days before the official opening.
The shop’s name incorporates Blossom (for Blooming Prairie) and Belle (for daughter Lake’s middle name, Maybelle).
LaMotte’s boutique is located in the former site of Jack Shaw’s barber shop. “We have brought a little history back to this location on Main Street,” she remarked.
A gold clothes rack and another tall pedestal rack come from Harri- et’s Dress Shop next door. Some of the mirrors are also from the dress shop.
Gift bags were given to the first 20 shoppers who visited the store. Other surprises took place during the day with random gifts being presented.
The Blossom Belle Boutique is a place for women to come and have conversation and a place to make customers feel comfortable and confident, LaMotte says.
The store features a variety of women’s clothing and apparel from Sportstitch. Shoppers can also find shoes and accessories.
Hand-made jewelry is supplied by Kelly’s mother, Stephanie McCar- ren and by her mother-in-law, Jane Crawford, whose macrame is also available.
LaMotte has been selling LulaRoe clothing the past 3 1/2 years by mail order from her home. She said she had a desire to offer more styles and more products tailored “for where we live,” she said.
