BREAKING NEWS: Blooming Prairie elects two new council members, mayor stays

Blooming Prairie residents have elected two new members to serve on the city council while the current mayor earned the right to serve another term.
Greg Johnson and Marcy Sundine have been elected to the city council. Johnson captured 767 votes or 40% while Sundine had 483 votes or 25%.
They replace Tara Gimbel and Mary Kittleson, who decided not to run for re-election.
Mayor Curt Esplan has been re-elected in a close race. He defeated challenger Tom Blome with 557 votes to Blome’s 494 votes.
