BREAKING NEWS: Man charged with murder in overdose death of Owatonna woman
The Steele County Attorney’s Office has charged a 34-year-old St. Paul man with murder in connection with the overdose death of an Owatonna woman in 2023.
Marquise Demarrow Little faces a single felony count of third-degree murder of selling, giving and distributing a controlled substance. He is accused of causing the death of Tai’ricca Einfeldt of Owatonna on May 6, 2023.
Analysis from the BCA revealed that the pills Einfeldt got from Little contained heroin, fentanyl and zylazine, the criminal complaint alleges.
Little is in custody on an unrelated matter, and his initial court appearance will be scheduled upon his release to Steele County, according to County Attorney Robert Jarrett.
“My deepest sympathy is extended to the family and friends of Tai’ricca Einfeldt,” Jarrett said. “Drug addiction has devastating effects on our community, and our office is committed to providing resources to those who are struggling while holding offenders who distribute illegal drugs accountable.”
