BREAKING NEWS: No surprises with Steele Board as incumbents maintain seats

Unlike the 2016 election, there were no surprises in this year’s commissioner races for Steele County Board.
Incumbents Rick Gnemi and Jim Abbe easily were re-elected to their positions by defeating the former commissioners whom they unseated in 2016.
In District 3, Gnemi captured 2,001 votes (63%) over his challenger Mark Schultz, who came in with 1,114 votes (35%).
In District 4, Abbe earned 2,560 votes (62%) over James “Corky” Ebeling, who had 1,539 votes (37%).
Greg Krueger ran unopposed in District 5.
In the only contested Soil and Water Supervisor race, Michael Klecker outperformed Alex Wayne 64% to 35%.
