BREAKING NEWS: OWATONNA TEEN CRITICALLY INJURED IN CRASH

A two vehicle crash Monday afternoon in Dodge County has critically injured an Owatonna teenager.
Dodge County Sheriff Scott Rose said Tyler Maas-Schile, 18, had to be extricated from the head-on crash and suffered “life threatening injuries.” He was transported by North Memorial Air Care to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester.
The crash happened on 250th Avenue (County Road 13) at 685th Street in Canisteo Township around 5:25 p.m. Monday. When deputies arrived, they found one victim lying on the ground, one sitting near a truck and another unconscious in a vehicle. The unconscious person was Maas-Schile.
According to the sheriff’s office, a southbound truck driven by Ardean Bjornson, 80, of Hayfield collided with Maas-Schile’s northbound vehicle. Ardean Bjornson suffered minor injuries while his passenger, Kevin Bjornson, had serious injuries. Both were transported by ground ambulance to St. Mary’s.
The Minnesota State Patrol is assisting Dodge County with the crash reconstruction and to determine what caused the crash.
