BREAKING NEWS: Owatonna woman killed in head-on crash

The deadly two-lane stretch of U.S. Highway 14 in Steele County has claimed yet another life.
On Saturday, Allison Christine Anderson, 67, of Owatonna was killed in a head-on crash on Highway 14 in Havana Township. She was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Todd Richard Anderson, 58, who suffered life-threatening injuries. He is at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester.
The State Patrol says the crash happened on a wet roadway at Mile Post 182 east of Owatonna around 4:54 p.m. According to the patrol, a freightliner was eastbound on Highway 14 while the Anderson vehicle was westbound. The freightliner attempted to pass an unknown vehicle and struck the Anderson vehicle head-on.
Two people in the freightliner were uninjured.
The patrol said no alcohol is involved. The Andersons were wearing their seat belts.
The crash was located in the 12-mile stretch of Highway 14 that is two lanes between Dodge Center and Owatonna. It is expected to be widened to four lanes either later this year or next year.
