BREAKING NEWS: State of Emergency declared in Dodge County

Dodge County officials have declared a State of Emergency due to the extensive damage from the spring storm.
According to Sheriff Scott Rose, at the peak of the storm, more than 4,340 homes in Dodge County were without power due to damaged power poles and lines. 
“We have multiple township and county roads closed with barricades due to downed power poles and lines throughout the county,” Rose said. 
Several county roads will be closed Thursday during the overnight hours. They include:
-      County Road 16 between CR 11 and 252ndAve.
-      County Road 4 at the intersection of 230thAve.
-      County Road 13 between CR 6 West and East
“We want to remind you for your safety and the safety of our emergency responders, please do not drive around the barricades,” Rose warned.
Rose said it could be 24-72 hours before everyone’s power is restored in the county.
There are several emergency shelters open in Dodge County:

• Can shelter 100-150

• Bathrooms and showers available- bring toiletries to include bath towel • Wifi available 
West Concord - Old Funeral home building west of fire department OPENING AT 7PM

Claremont- not opening a shelter unless needed
