Catherine Boever, 70, Blooming Prairie
Catherine Faye Boever of Blooming Prairie, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her children, on Sunday, Aug. 31, 2025, at the age of 70.
Cathy was born on Oct. 3, 1954, in Austin, the daughter of Melford and Esther (Barber) Schneider.
Cathy attended school in Blooming Prairie and graduated from the Blooming Prairie High School.
She married Timothy Boever on Dec. 23, 1975, and they were blessed with four children: Erica, Allison, Christina, and Thomas. She spent most of her life working as a dispatcher for the family trucking company and retired in 2017.
Cathy loved going shopping and enjoying a seafood meal. She enjoyed trying her luck at the casino, playing bingo and poker. She even took first place in a Texas Hold-em tournament once. She loved playing Skip-Bo and other card games with family. She also enjoyed crafting, painting, puzzles, and watching the game show network. She loved to spend time with her pets. Most of all, she enjoyed holidays and spending time with her children and grandchildren, as well as other family members. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Cathy is survived by her children: Erica Nelson (Nick Novak) of Mazeppa, Allison (Travis) Hensrud, Christina (Jeffrey) Getchell, and Thomas (Alisha) Boever, all of Blooming Prairie; grandchildren: Arri Meiners, Dustin, Brianna, and Hailey Hensrud, Connor and Myah Getchell, Madilynne Boever, Blake and Savannah Kramer, and Jacob Carlson; siblings: Terry (Barb) Schneider, Cheryl (Larry) Shoden, Brenda (Scott) Thompson, and Rhonda Underdahl; step mother: Darlene Schneider; sisters and brothers-in-law: Kitty (Jerry) Galles, Sherry Willis, Deanna (Jim) Beck, Mary (Art) Ewoldt, Dorothy Boever, Carol Boever, Karen Boever, Julie Boever, and Pete Mundell; and many nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Timothy Boever; son-in-law: Todd Nelson; father: Melford Schneider; mother: Esther Schneider; siblings: Karen Schneider and Randall Schneider; father and mother-in-law: John and Geraldine Boever; and sisters and brothers-in-law: Dennis Underdahl, Norbert Boever, John Boever, Peggy Larson, Richard Boever, Julie Mundell, Gail Boever, and Steve Boever.
Memorial services for Cathy will be held at Bonnerup Funeral Service in Albert Lea, on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2025, at 11 a.m., with a luncheon to follow. Friends and family are welcome to visit one hour prior to the service. Interment will be held at the State Line Cemetery in Northwood, Iowa.
