A Christmas to Remember at BP School

It was indeed A Christmas to Remember as presented by students of the Blooming Prairie Elementary School two times on Friday, Dec. 6.
Parents, grandparents and friends of students were treated to a musical gala performance in the morning and to another in the afternoon. The gymnasium was packed with standing room only during both shows.
The concert featured fifth and sixth grade bands opening the show. The General Music classes in grades kindergarten to sixth grade also performed.
In the finale, 445 kids took the stage to sing A Christmas to Remember.
The bands were directed by Ross Reishus, the grades 5-6 choirs were directed by Kari Bottin and Krista Reeder directed K-6 General Music.
The fifth grade band performed Good King Wencelas, Jingle Bells and Jolly Ol Saint Nicholas.
The sixth grade band performed Bennett's Switch and Frosty the Snowman.
The 5-6 Choir sang Winter Bells Across the Snow and Showbiz Snowman.
Kindergartners sang Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Jingle Bells and We Wish You a Merry Christmas.
Next was the first grade with Frosty the Snow Man, Snowflake Snowflake and Snowman, Where'd You Go?
Second graders sang When Santa Clause Gets Your Letter, I'm Gonna Give a Gift and Hip Hop Elves.
Third graders performed Let's Build a Gingerbread House, The Christmas Song and Everlasting Fruitcake.
Fourth graders were on stage to do Let's Make It Shine, Oh Christmas Tree and We Need a Little Christmas.
Next to perform were fifth graders with their version of Make a Buck, Little Drummer Boy and Nice Not Naughty.
Sixth graders performed Believe, Christmas Hymn Medley and Old Fashioned Holiday.
The Grand Finale was A Christmas to Remember sang by all students. Special portable bleachers, purchased by the Blooming Prairie Education Foundation, were used for this special concert.
School music events coming up include a high school band concert at the high school at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 12 and a choir concert at First Lutheran Church on Monday, Dec. 16.
