An Easter celebration of different sorts in BP

The coronavirus COVID-19 caused the Blooming Prairie annual Easter Egg Hunt to be cancelled this year.
That didn't stop the event's sponsor, Women of Today, with coming up with a novel idea. "Let's have an Easter parade," suggested event chair Mandy Doocy.
With the help of some volunteers, Women of Today got the idea of convincing the Easter bunny to ride in a Express Pressure Washer truck and visit kids and adults throughout Blooming Prairie.
Doocy's sister Brandy Munson was the Easter bunny. "She wanted to spread cheer with everything going on with the coronavirus COVID-19," said Doocy. Munson, Doocy and Lachelle Wondra of Express worked out the plans for an Easter parade.
"A huge thank you goes to the Easter Bunny (Brandy Munson), Express Pressure Washers, Lachelle Wondra, Women of Today member's and of course the community for coming out to say hello to the Bunny," said Doocy.
The parade started a little late, about 15 minutes after 11 a.m. last Saturday, April 11. It came to an end about 90 minutes later.
"We are grateful for everyone’s patience as the Bunny worked her way through town," said Doocy.
The parade featured only two units, the Easter bunny's truck and a truck to carry the music. Oh yeah, the horns on the vehicles were sounded to tell everyone that the bunny was coming.
The Easter Bunny's motorcade even took a swing through the circle at the Prairie Manor Care Center.
The parade's beginning came on 8th Street NW.
"We hope that this parade put a few smiles on kids and adults," said organizer Doocy.
She continued: "I think it was a great turnout! We saw a lot of kiddos and community members waving from their windows and curbs. Some made signs, other were holding bunnies, and everyone was smiling!
"I think everyone that helped out would agree that it was just nice to spread some cheer and take people’s minds off everything.
"Anything we can do right now to spread some love and kindness is great! We also want to apologize if we missed anyone, that was definitely not our intent.
"Overall though, Our collaboration came together nice and we were blessed with a beautiful day and a lot of smiles. Like the saying goes 'When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade!'”
