Ed Auction to feature new twists
Excitement is building over the upcoming Blooming Prairie Education Foundation Auction slated to take place March 30.
This year the auction committee has come up with several new opportunities for Blossom supporters to help the foundation.
There will be a kids raffle this year. The raffle will be featured during the silent auction with the winning ticket drawn after all tables are closed. The raffle tickets may be purchased before the auction from any of the committee members and also the night of the auction. Tickets are $5 with the prize value of $150.
During the silent auction, there will be an “Instant Buy” table, which will feature up to eight items. Citizens may bid on the items or they can instantly purchase the item for the dollar amount indicated on the item.
Baskets will be donated in memory of Rachel and Emerson Harberts, who were tragically killed on their way to school during the first week of school in September. Rachel was a first grade teacher at Blooming Prairie for many years. The Harberts’ baskets will be auctioned off live after the silent auction, but before the live auction starts.
During the live auction, the committee will be having 50/50 tickets selling for $5. The winner will receive 50 percent of the money collected.
There will also be Blossom can coolies for sale for $5.
“All proceeds from this auction go directly back to Blooming Prairie Schools,” said Karen Fouarge, a foundation member.
The auction will take place on Saturday, March 30. More details will be released in the coming weeks.
