Gobble Wobble runners make room for turkey at Thanksgiving run in BP

Thanksgiving Day is traditionally a time when people offer thanks for their many blessings.
It is also a time when the dinner table is filled with turkey, dressing and all of the many other goodies.
Thus, some early risers on Thanksgiving Day in Blooming Prairie met at the Blooming Prairie Youth Club to participate in the Seventh Annual Gobble Wobble Fun Walk/Run.
By participating, 13 Widdle Wobble contestants and 50 adults made room for their big turkey dinner by burning off calories at 8 in the morning.
Gloria Hernandez, 9, won the Widdle Wobble competition by coming in first on a jaunt from the BP Youth Club up to Third Street and back to the Youth Club. Each youngster who participated received a goodie bag. Adults also received a goodie bag full of treats and coupons.
Winners of the 5K walk/run received personalized thermal mugs. The top three finishers were: Alec Ille, first; Isaac Ille, second and Aaron Bodurtha, third.
Door prize winners were: Kelly LaMotte, first, bag of Gopher Sports balls; Randy Klemmensen, second, CrossFit bag of goodies and Riley Johnson, third, Yoga Studio coupons.
Baylee Sorenson, a junior at Blooming Prairie High School, wore a turkey costume and was at the starting line for the run/walk.
"Start your gobblers," someone heard a turkey sounding the start of the race.
Linda Klemmensen and Holli Naatz of Sportstitch helped with designing and printing the T-shirts that were given to all participants. Kelli Naatz, BP Youth Club director, was the event coordinator.
All proceeds went to the BP Youth Club.
