Grain bin accident leads to injury in Blooming Prairie
On Tuesday morning Mower County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a farm accident in Blooming Prairie which resulted in one male being airlifted to Saint Mary’s in Rochester by Mayo One.
According to the Sheriff's Office a 24 year old farm hand Adam Harber was cleaning the inside of a grain bin in the 51000 block of 320th street on Tuesday morning.
The owner of the farm who was not identified was outside the bin and thought that Harber was no longer in the bin when he started the grain auger.
Harber was heard yelling for help when another farm worker turned off the auger.
According to the Sheriff’s Office the injury was an open leg wound.
According to the Sheriff’s Office this was the first major farm injury of the 2018 Harvest Season in the county.
