BP Cancer Group gives $120,000 to Eagles Telethon

It seems to be a repetitive thing when the Blooming Prairie Cancer group makes a generous donation to the District 5 Eagles Telethon.
It happened again last Saturday night, when Cheri Krejci, Connie Trom, and Jennifer Milton braved snowy and icy roads to make an impressive $120,000 contribution to the Eagles Telethon in Rochester. The BP Cancer group had previously donated $100,000 to the Hormel Institute for cancer research.
The BP Cancer Group invited residents of the BP area to celebrate the cancer organization's accomplishments during 2023 by sponsoring a breakfast. The breakfast signaled the kickoff to the 2024 year for the BP Cancer Group.
A huge breakfast attended by 150 has been routine the past 15 years under the direction of the BP Cancer Group Board of Directors.
Two major fund raisers are planned soon. Raffle tickets are being sold for the Coyotes Fur Cancer event, which includes an actual coyote hunt and is followed by an auction.
A double header of purse bingo is scheduled for Saturday, April 20, at the BP Servicemen’s Club. The events take place at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. This year’s event marks the sixth year that purse bingo has been held in Blooming Prairie.
