BP does it again for Toys for Tots

Yes, Blooming Prairie did it
again for the Steele County Toys
for Tots campaign.
Harvey and Nancy Farr of J &
H Liquors represented the annual
BOB (Bikers of Blooming) ride
held on Aug. 17 by turning over
$17,500 to the Steele County Toys
for Tots program.
The Blooming Prairie contribution
for many years has
ranked as the largest dollar
total of any group donating
to the Toys for Tots in Steele
County.
“We keep on trying,” said a
proud Harvey Farr in turning
the amount over to the Steele
County Toys for Tots officials.
Accepting the BOB funds on a
Saturday morning were coordinator
Jerry Shore of the Marine
Reserves, Don Overlie, assistant
coordinator and Nancy Levisay,
treasurer. “Oh, my God,” Overlie
reacted when told of the Blooming
Prairie donation.
Levisay said her records show
that Blooming Prairie’s BOB ride
has contributed $124,785 since
2004. This year’s contribution is a
new record, Levisay emphasized.
Shore said the program got
its start when the late Bonnie
Thompson said people “were
falling through the cracks” and
