BREAKING NEWS: RIESS CASE CONTINUES TO STALL IN COURT

The 15-month-old murder case against a Dodge County grandmother accused of killing two people continues to stall in court. 
On Thursday, a Florida judge expressed his frustration with the timing of the Lois Riess murder case, especially after there have been many management hearings over the past year. 
“I can’t believe this is the fourth or fifth case management hearing on a case that’s over a year old,” Judge Robert Branning said in court.
Riess’ defense attorney defended their slow movement on the fact that they have to do their “due diligence” on the case that spans five states. He compared their case to a “duck on a pond,” though there appears to be no movement on the surface, they are thrashing away underneath.
A pretrial hearing has now been set for Dec. 17.
Riess is charged with killing her husband, David Riess, in their Blooming Prairie home in March 2018 and Pamela Hutchinson, a look-alike woman she befriended while on the run in Florida. Riess faces the death penalty in Florida.
