BREAKING NEWS: Senator Jasinski recovers after snowmobile crash

Minnesota Senator John Jasinski is recovering in a Twin Cities hospital after being involved in snowmobile crash in northern Minnesota.
Jasinski was flown by North Memorial Air Ambulance to North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale after the Friday crash at the Minnesota Rendezvous event in Morrison County.
The sheriff’s office says Jasinski was operating a snowmobile with fellow State Senator Mark Johnson of East Grand Forks. The two made a 90-degree turn on a trail when Jasinski was rear-ended by Johnson’s snowmobile and thrown off.
The crash left Jasinski with three broken ribs, a broken pelvis and fractured L5 vertebrae.
“Because of the great care I received both at the accident site and in the hospital, I am expected to make a full recovery,” Jasinski said Monday.
The senator acknowledged the recovery will likely be long, but he is ready to participate with remote access for hearings and floor sessions and fully engage in the current legislative session.
Jasinski serves Minnesota’s District 24, which includes mostly Steele and Rice counties. He lives in Faribault.
