BREAKING NEWS UPDATE Motorcyclist killed in crash identified

UPDATE:  The Minnesota State Patrol has identified the motorcyclist killed in a crash outside Blooming Prairie Wednesday morning.

The victim is Ronald Leroy Karg, 75, of Glencoe, Minn. The patrol reports Karg was wearing a helmet and no alcohol is involved.

A 75-year-old man from Glencoe was killed Wednesday morning in a motorcycle crash on Minnesota Highway 30, just east of Blooming Prairie.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the man was eastbound on his Harley Davidson when the motorcycle went into the ditch, ejecting the driver. The crash occurred near the S-curve near115th Avenue in Westfield Township.

The man's identity is expected to be released at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

The crash was reported about 10:20 a.m., closing the highway for about two hours as reconstruction and mapping took place.

Crews from the Blooming Prairie Police Department, Blooming Prairie Fire Department, Blooming Prairie Ambulance, Mayo Clinic Ambulance and Dodge County Sheriff's Office also responded to the scene.
