Fair attendance down slightly in 2021

Despite a slight downturn in attendance at this year’s Steele County Free Fair, the fair set record gross receipts, fair officials announced.
The overall attendance was estimated at 303,091, which is about 6% less than the attendance in 2019. The 2019 fair’s attendance was 322,437.
The record attendance of 350,899 was set in 2013.
Fair officials said invoices are still coming in, but “all indicators are pointing to a successful fair in 2021.”
