The Owatonna Huskies won their home debut 42-7 over Hastings at the newly finished Federated Field at Owatonna Stadium to start the season 1-0.
Owatonna head coach Jeff Williams earned his 200th win as the Huskies' skipper in the process.
“It’s very gratifying because I really like these kids as human beings. You want these kids to go out and have success. And nothing is guaranteed next week or the week after, but to see them come out and have this kind of performance in the opener - in front of the whole community it looked like - it’s just really gratifying as a coach,” said Williams.
Owatonna will travel to Chanhassen for its next game on Friday, Sept. 8 at 7 p.m.
