Havana Hills Golf Course in Owatonna will have new owners and management this spring as the course was recently purchased by three families for $210,000.
Owners will consist of Owatonna locals Mark and Tami Langlois, as well as Minnetonka residents Adam and Kenna Dooley, and Delano residents Jason and Kristin Beeler.
“I think the catalyst was really just wanting to make a positive impact on the community. We see this place as a gem. It’s a great place for families to come out and have a good time together,” said Mark Langlois.
The new ownership does not plan to change much in terms of the course itself. However, plans are already in motion to change both the clubhouse and atmosphere of the course.
According to Langlois, new additions to the clubhouse are a wider seating area equipped with a new TV and weather radar to allow golfers a place to relax before and after rounds, while also keeping tabs on the impending weather situations.
On top of that, the clubhouse will also feature a new extended patio that will give families more space to enjoy the spring and summer sunshine.
In terms of atmosphere, the course also plans to be home to multiple family-friendly events such as food trucks and movie nights out on the range.
For those wondering how the course will be affected by having a few new owners from out of town, fear not; this group knows its way around the game.
Owners Mark Langlois and Adam Dooley were teammates together on the University of Minnesota golf team in their hey days and were joined by fellow owner Kristin Beeler who played for the Golden Gophers women’s team.
“The opportunity to own a golf facility is an exciting endeavor, made even more special in partnership with great friends and family,” said Dooley.
The course officially opened in early April, and with the warm weather looming on the near horizon, the time is now to dust off the clubs.
Memberships at Havana Hills will offer three separate prices for driving range access, course access or a mixture of both.
Junior golfers aged 18 or younger will be $150 for range access, $150 for golf, or $275 for a combination of both.
As for adults, a family golf membership that includes two adults and children under 18 will cost $300, a single adult golf membership will be $200, and a senior golf membership for those 60 years and older will be $175.
Course hours will be 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. six days a week with Monday hours being 1:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
