Sports Alert: Gabe Hagen is the 1000-point man

This accomplishment belongs to the entire team, said Blooming Prairie star center Gabe Hagen, reflecting on his night (Jan. 21) of scoring 22 points at home to eclipse the 1000-point mark during his four-year career.
His special moment came in action against Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton (JWP).
Hagen went to the free throw line late in the game to sink his 1000th point. One more point came on another free throw and he had 1001.
What was also deemed important was that the Blossoms won the game over JWP, agreed Hagen and Coach Nate Piller. "His whole team really wanted him to get it on this night and we wanted it to come the right way with a win," said Piller.
Final score was: Blooming Prairie 63, JWP 58.
The win pushed the Blossoms' overall record to 10-1. The Blossoms are 4-0 in Section 1A and 4-1 in the Gopher Conference.
After Hagen scored his monumental point, action was halted to allow Hagen to share the moment with his teammates, with his parents David and Joan and with his fans.
