NEWS BULLETIN: Homestead Hospice House hits fundraising goal
The Homestead Hospice House Board of Directors and Seasons Hospice are thrilled to announce that they have successfully reached their fundraising goal of $850,000. This milestone marks a significant step forward in expanding access to residential hospice care, thanks to the generosity of many donors and local businesses.
The largest donation came from a one-time contribution from a benefactor in Olmsted County, who expressed a strong desire to support efforts to expand access to hospice care in the region. Their support, along with the combined efforts of countless other contributors, has made this achievement possible.
With the fundraising goal now met, the two boards are in the process of negotiating the details of a lease agreement for the new hospice facility. Once the lease is finalized, the next phase will begin with the licensing process through the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH), after which a formal timeline for the house reopening will be established.
The work is far from over. Homestead Hospice House continues to rely on community support to ensure the sustainability of this vital resource. “Ongoing annual fundraising is essential for us to sustain the operations and provide care at the hospice house. Every donation, regardless of size, plays a crucial role in making this beloved community resource possible,” shared Pat Buretta, Homestead Hospice House Board Member and spokesperson.
To support this cause, donations can be sent by check to Homestead Hospice House at P.O. 894 Owatonna, MN 55060 or made online at www.seasonshospice.org. Another form of support comes by the community utilizing Seasons Hospice for homecare hospice. Seasons Hospice provides hospice services in the community, wherever the patient calls home. 24/7 specialized end-of-life care is also provided at their hospice house located in southwest Rochester.
“We are incredibly grateful to all who have contributed to this campaign,” said Kristina Wright-Peterson, Seasons Hospice executive director. “This milestone would not have been possible without the compassion and generosity of so many. We are excited to take the next steps, but we still need your support to ensure the long-term success of Homestead Hospice House and Seasons Hospice in Steele County.”
