Rachelle Johnson, 52, Owatonna

Rachelle R (Simon) Johnson, 52, died Nov. 14, 2025, surrounded by family.

Shelly was born on June 10, 1973, in Owatonna, the daughter of Edward and Eilyne (Olinger) Simon. She grew up on the family farm in Summit Township. She attended St. Isidore School and then Blooming Prairie High School, graduating in 1991.

After high school, she worked various jobs including Ramada Inn, Quality Pork, Federated Insurance, Pearson, and CDI.

Shelly loved to play bingo, enjoyed camping, fishing, four wheeling, snowmobiling, playing volleyball, hockey, and spending time with her family and friends.

Shelly was a person you could count on and would do anything she could for you. She was loved by all.

Shelly is survived by her children: Kenneth (Jada) Johnson, Patrick Johnson, and Jessica Johnson (Cody Miller); grandchildren: Olivia Johnson, Jacob Miller, and baby-to-be; mother Eilyne Simon, siblings Roxanne (Verlyn) Nelson, Michael Simon, Ronda Fisher, Renee (Terry) Kubat, Ranita (Judd) Bang, and Rosalinda (Dave) Hollister.

Shelly was preceded in death by her father Edward Simon, and grandparents: Mary and Sydney Simon, and Clifford and Dorothy Olinger.

Friends may greet the family for a Celebration of Rachelle's Life on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2026, from 2-6 p.m. at the Owatonna VFW.
