Steele Fair snags Country star Chris Kroeze

Excitement is building for this year’s Steele County Fair as fair officials announce yet another major headliner coming to perform.
Local fair officials reached a deal this past weekend during the Minnesota Federation of Fairs in Bloomington for Chris Kroeze to perform on Friday, Aug. 16. NBC’s Emmy award-winning TV Show, The Voice, catapulted Kroeze onto the national stage this past year.
Kroeze’s combination of vocal and guitar skills, along with humility and small town country boy nature, have captured the hearts of millions of fans across America. He has performed 200 shows a year across the U.S. and internationally, including multiple tours overseas in support of the U.S. Armed Forces.
Since the fair made the announcement Sunday on Facebook, they have received more than 30,000 views.
“It was a great team win for our fair,” said Scott Kozelka, Steele fair manager. He pointed out entertainment director Wayne Steele came up with the initial idea, and the deal was signed as Kroeze performed at the Minnesota Federation of Fairs Convention.
Kozelka and other local fair officials saw Kroeze perform five numbers at the convention. “It will be fun for everyone,” Kozelka said.
Just last week, the fair announced rising Country music star Chris Hawkey will be performing at the fair on Thursday, Aug. 15.
Kozelka said the fair is currently putting together ticket packages for both shows. Fairgoers will also be able to attend just one show. He expects an announcement regarding tickets within the next week.
