Ellendale Mayor Russ Goette about his newest adventure,
that of owning the Ellendale Cafe. “We didn’t want to see it go away,” says Goette’s life partner and business partner, Patti Carlson. Goette and Carlson purchased the cafe from Judy Davidson who has owned the cafe for the past 26 years. A cafe has been lo- cated at its present location for many years. The building was constructed in 1910.
The Davidsons are moving to Lake Vermillion.
“We got the keys on a Monday and opened the next day,” Goette said proud- ly. “It’s home cookin’ that we will provide," he promised.
