Zamboni Building closes its doors
After more than a year of hosting events in the heart of downtown Owatonna, The Zamboni Event Center has closed.
Owner Scott Limberg made the announcement this week on Facebook.
“From weddings and milestone birthdays to community gatherings and corporate celebrations, it has been our absolute honor to serve as the backdrop for your most cherished memories,” the post said.
“We have truly enjoyed the journey of hosting and creating events of all kinds, and we are going to miss the energy, the laughter and the fun that each of you brought into our space.”
The space was also used for multiple blood drives, the weekly Saturday Marketplace and much more.
The 1889 building at 301 N. Cedar Ave. was revamped in 2025, with water damage repairs, a new sprinkler system, new plumbing and updates to electrical systems and bathrooms.
It also created two spaces – a smaller one for up to 50 people and a larger room that held about 175. The two were able to be combined into one space, featuring a grand staircase, high ceilings and chandeliers.
