With the midterm election only days away, the statewide Republican candidates spent the weekend doing a statewide bus tour.

The group stopped in Owatonna early Saturday morning to greet supporters and enjoy breakfast at the Kernel Restaurant before heading on to Rochester. Among the candidates on the bus were Lisa Demuth, governor; Tad Jude, secretary of state; Scott Jensen, state auditor and Ron Schutz, state attorney general. State Sen. John Jasinski, District 19, State Representative Keith Allen, District 19A, and State Representative Tom Sexton, District 19B were not part of the bus tour but were on hand to greet the bus as it arrived in Owatonna.

An enthusiastic crowd was waiting in the parking lot when the bus arrived, and after talking with those supporters the candidates then moved into the restaurant where another group was waiting for them. There was no organized program, but the candidates spent time greeting and talking one-on-one with restaurant patrons.

Minnesota voters will head to the polls on Tuesday, to choose a governor, lieutenant governor, secretary of state, state auditor and state attorney general as well as state senators and representative, a U.S. Senator, members of the U.S. House of Representatives and local city, county and school board members.
