The Owatonna Fire Department battled a structure fire in the 200 block of 32nd Avenue NW Monday afternoon.

Initial reports came in stating flames were visible alongside of the building. Fire crews quickly put out the fire, which was limited to the exterior of the building.

According to Fire Chief Ed Hoffman, the building was undergoing renovations and was unoccupied at the time. He said the case has been ruled accidental due to construction activities.

No injuries were reported.

Medford Fire assisted Owatonna Fire at the scene, along with the State Fire Marshal, Owatonna Police, Mayo Ambulance and Owatonna Public Utilities.

The warehouse, which was built in 1996, was reportedly sold to a Georgia-based logistics group that bought it for $14 million earlier this year.
