Patricia White, 87, Owatonna

Patricia “Patsy” Marie White, 87, of Owatonna, passed away on Monday, Aug. 10, 2026, at the Owatonna Hospital, surrounded by loved ones.

She was born on Dec. 4, 1938, in Owatonna, to Vitus and Mathilda (Severson) Hudrlik. Patricia grew up in Owatonna and graduated from Owatonna High School in 1956. She went on to attend nursing school in St. Paul.

She began her career as a registered nurse at Owatonna Hospital, caring for people in the emergency room and developing an infection control program.

In 1959, Patricia was united in marriage to Vern Oscar White. Together, they were blessed with four children and shared 51 years of marriage until Vern’s passing in October 2010.

After retiring from nursing, Patsy enjoyed a life filled with travel, family, friends, and the things she loved most. She treasured time spent with her family, whether in Arizona during the winter or at home in Owatonna. Patsy also loved catching walleyes at “Patsy’s Point” on Big Sandy Lake where she and Vern owned a cabin for many years.

Patsy had many creative interests. She loved watercolor painting and won a blue ribbon at the SCFF for her “angel” painting. Her creativity spilled into basket and jewelry making. Later in life she discovered a love for playing mahjong and took great pleasure in teaching others how to play.

In recent years, Patsy’s very special friend was Dale Arndt. Together they spent time dining, playing mahjong, going to plays, visiting friends and family, and riding around in his hot red corvette. She enjoyed this bright new chapter of her life very much.

Above all, Patricia loved and cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They brought her great joy and some of her biggest smiles as she held them on her lap. The memories they shared will remain a lasting part of her family’s lives.

She is survived by her daughter Susan (and Thomas) Peterson of Owatonna; grandchildren Aaron (Vanessa) Peterson, Jeremy Peterson, Matthew (Teresa) Brinkman, TJ (Katie) White, Jonathan (Brandi) Peterson, Rachel (Jordan) Watkins, Jesse Ebeling, Luke Ebeling, and Laura Ebeling; great grandchildren Valerie Peterson, Kim Peterson, Sadie White, Nash White, Mara White, Scarlett White, Avery White, Ransom Watkins, and Pax Watkins as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Vern, daughter Lisa (White) Ebeling, and sons Michael and Timothy White.

Memorial services will be held on Aug. 28, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Michaelson Funeral Home, with a visitation starting at 10 a.m. A lunch reception will follow the service. Interment at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Owatonna will also follow the service for those who wish to attend.

Because Patsy loved children, the family will donate any memorials received to children’s charities.
