Sandra Sprung, 76, Owatonna
Sandy Lee Sprung (Wilday), 76, of Owatonna, passed away unexpectedly on Aug. 10, 2026, at her cabin in northern Minnesota.
Born on August 13, 1949, in Owatonna to George and Marjorie (Case) Wilday. She graduated from Owatonna High School in 1967.
Sandy devoted over 40 years of her career to Jostens in Owatonna, where her dedication and loyalty left a lasting impression on colleagues and friends. Her strong and independent spirit was evident in both her professional life and personal endeavors.
She found great joy at her cabin in Northern Minnesota, where she loved fishing, enjoying the outdoors, and savoring the tranquility of the lake. Sandy also enjoyed baking, decorating, playing cards and gardening. These beloved activities brought her closer to family and friends, creating cherished memories for all who knew her.
Sandy married Merle Sprung in 1967 and was married for 16 years; they had three children together Shelly Dushek, Noel Sprung and Tiffany Jenkins. Later in life she met her life partner Ronald Kubat of 30 years.
Sandy is survived by her life partner Ronald Kubat, her children Shelly Dushek (Klane), Noel Sprung (Elizabeth) and Tiffany Jenkins (Tim); grandchildren Nash and Lexus Dushek; step-grandchildren Alisha, Blake, Michaela and Kiley Jenkins; sister Cindy Melby (David) and brother Jeff Wilday.
She was predeceased in death by her parents George and Marjorie Wilday: grandparents Albert and Elizabeth Case; Lawrence and Grace Wilday.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, Aug. 30, 2026, from 1-4 p.m. with a light lunch served at Steele County Historical Society, 1700 Austin Road Owatonna.
